Episode 88 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

The Poisonous Body Explained

The little medical fairy's condition is grave. A poisonous body is a special physique that needs poison to survive, and the more poison it absorbs, the stronger it becomes. Its toxins grow more intense over time, and once the poisonous gas can no longer be contained, it erupts, destroying all life within a thousand miles and leaving its carrier to die in painful torment. The gas has already spread through her body and threatens her consciousness, so the others are urged to get out of there quickly.

Xiao Yan Refuses to Let Her Go

The little fairy tells Xiao Yan that following him has given her a very happy life, and that he was her first friend. She fears this may be the last time they speak and asks him to leave her, because she does not want him to get hurt. Xiao Yan refuses to accept that, telling her to rest while he thinks of another way. Controlling the evil body requires more than one ingredient: the birth of a Bodhisattva is not enough, and the magic core of the Sky Poison Dragon Scorpion Beast is still missing.

Senior Tianhuo's Sealing Method

Xiao Yan sees a poisonous body for a second time and asks Senior Tianhuo whether he has ever seen one. Tianhuo recalls a friend whose poisonous body broke out, and he once created a sealing method that delayed the outbreak by three years, though it could not save the friend in the end. Xiao Yan asks to learn the method. Tianhuo explains that the explosion of the poison can be suppressed with the help of strange fire. Xiao Yan agrees to try, warning that he may be affected himself, and he tells the fairy to lie down and not move.

The Heavenly Fire Seal Holds

Xiao Yan completes the Heavenly Fire Seal and asks the fairy whether the poisonous gas entered her body. The seal takes hold, and the poisonous body is confirmed to be suppressed. Based on the seal's strength, it can last two to three years without trouble. That is enough time to find a Sky Poison Scorpion Dragon Beast. Relieved, Xiao Yan promises his companions he will keep his word, adding that one important task must be finished before the journey and that it cannot be rushed.

A Breakthrough and the Heavenly Soul Melting Blood Pill

The poisonous gas released when the Nemesis venom bursts proves an excellent tonic, and Xiao Yan reports he has been promoted to Five Star Douzong. Then comes an important alchemy task. Refining a seventh-grade elixir should not be done with too many people present, so Xiao Yan works in a quiet place. He uses the blood of a mysterious big bird, a monster with a high level in life, to refine the Heavenly Soul Melting Blood Pill. The bird's compulsion came from its bloodline, and a thunder tribulation strikes during the refining. A demon puppet appears, but Xiao Yan manages it himself. He says he hopes the concoction is to his companions' liking before he heads to the Central Plains.
