Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 162

Episode 162 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

A trade fair hunt for the last Pure Lotus picture

Xiao Yan and his group arrive at a trade fair in a space town, where news says the final image of the Pure Lotus Demon Fire will soon appear at the space exchange. Yao Lao uses a nine-colored Dan Lei pill to win the last picture, but that success draws the attention of a mysterious strong man, who captures him. The Soul Palace's push to collect souls adds to the sense that the whole region is tilting toward a fight.

Scorpion demons and a strength gap Xiao Yan cannot close

Two scorpion demons from the Yunyu Sect join the fight, and the subtitles describe their female disciples as cauldrons used to absorb power. The brothers had hidden their strength when they first attacked together, and one of them is at the sixth-turn Dou Zun peak. Xiao Yan's side is badly outmatched: the gap is too big, and a secret technique that lets someone rise from eight-star Dou Zun to the third-turn peak is still not enough against the sixth-turn level. Two women, one the Seven-Colored Sky-Swallowing Python and the other with an evil poison body, join forces against the scorpions.

A drop of blood turns the map into a warning

At first the map looks like an ordinary random picture, but it does not look old, so the group suspects a hidden trick. They try a drop of blood, the Pure Lotus Demonic Fire responds, and the picture shows two moons appearing together in a Nine Stars in One scene. That scene is described as a special event of heaven and earth that appears only once every thousand years. The last one was 997 years ago, so the next is three years away, and the demon fire will draw strong people from all sides.

A soul light lodged in Xiao Yan's brow

Within the ancient picture, a ray of soul power shot into Xiao Yan's brow. The teacher worries that some ancient powerful being might take over his body, but Xiao Yan says a trace of soul energy remains in his mind, and his own soul power tests have not been able to shake it. Fortunately it took no further action. The source is identified as the Pure Lotus Demon Saint, the master of the Pure Lotus Demon Fire, who was once closest to the Dou Di and whose fall is not recorded. Described as an upright person, he left the light ball, which should not hurt Xiao Yan and may even help him conquer the demon fire later.

Three years to reach Dou Sheng

The teacher then turns to the timeline. Even with outside help, Xiao Yan cannot break through to the Dou Sheng realm within three years, so if the demon fire descends, he can only watch. Breaking through that fast with his current strength is as hard as climbing to heaven. The Bodhi seed he already holds is the way forward: it is not very pure, but it lets him sense the ancient Bodhi tree, which lies in a vast territory long forbidden to humans. The episode ends with the group deciding it is time to set off for the ancient wilderness.
