Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 67

Episode 67 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Cai Lin Learns Who the Target Really Is

The Poison Sect has ordered its forces to capture the leader of the Flame Alliance. When Cai Lin discovers that the so-called leader is Xiao Yan, her only true friend, guilt makes it hard for her to face him. Xiao Yan proves who he is with a different fire, and he tells her he has a way to help her fully control her poison. That offer convinces her to believe him.

Cai Lin Pulls the Three Sects Back

Cai Lin persuades the three sects to withdraw their troops, although the Gamma Empire's crisis has only eased for now. Xiao Yan returns to his old base and waits, because the Jin Yan Clan and Mulan Valley still want to take over the Jia Ma Empire. He views Yan Luotian and the three Mulan elders as the biggest threat, since they are the main support behind both sects.

The Poison Pill Method Sets a High Bar

Cai Lin explains the poison pill method, which condenses the toxins in the body into a pill that can be manipulated to control the poison. The requirements are harsh. It needs a demon core from a seventh order Heavenly Poisonous Scorpion Dragon Beast, three different fires, and an ingredient called Bodhi Body Saliva that nobody has ever heard of. Xiao Yan has three different fires, but the other two ingredients are nearly impossible to find, so the plan remains a faint hope.

The Snake Clan Asks for Help

Xiao Yan is invited to a Snake Clan banquet, where the First Elder explains the patriarch's crisis. Two energies are fighting inside him: the soul of the Heaven Devouring Python and the leftover energy of the Fallen Heart Flame. If they cannot be merged, he could explode within two years. A sixth grade Snake Marrow pill can support an intermediate secret method, but a full merge needs the seventh grade Heavenly Soul Blood Melting Pill, and refining that requires an alchemist with three different fires. The Snake Clan then joins the Flame Alliance because of Xiao Yan's promise.

Xiao Yan Accepts the Burden

Xiao Yan takes on the task and receives the recipe for the Heavenly Soul Blood Melting Pill. He reassures Chaerin that the foreign energy cannot harm him now, because the Heaven Devouring Python's soul power is weakening. He says he will gather the medicinal materials and refine the pill as soon as possible, which sets up the two-year race that drives what comes next.
