Episode 196 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

The Soul Clan's Declaration of War

The Ancestor Stone has vanished, and the ancient clans are thrown into panic. The Flame, Medicine and Thunder clans form a self-protection alliance aimed at the Ancient Clan and the Soul Clan. Hun Qianmo, a six-star Dou Sheng, arrives at the Soul Hall to wipe out the Heavenly Mansion Alliance in one swoop, and the declaration of war leaves it in crisis. The final battle is set for the peak of Mount Runtuh in three days.

Xuan Unit Is Rescued at the Mine

Xuan Unit members from the Heavenly Mansion Alliance are mining Strange Fire stones when Soul Hall men attack, threatening to keep their heads and stones. A senior steps in, saves the wounded, and shares healing pills. When the unit mentions a nearby Soul Hall branch, he asks for directions and the whole branch vanishes with one flick of his finger. The stunned men realize the senior is Xiao Yan, the Young Alliance Master.

Catching Up on the Central Plains

Xiao Yan asks what happened in the Central Plains after the Strange Fire room closed. He hears that the Central Square was remodeled and that the Ancestor Stone and the Spirit Clan suddenly vanished, and he wonders who is behind it all. He decides to check on the Ancient Clan, which must be hit hard too.

Hun Qianmo's Threat Worries the Alliance

The alliance recalls that ancient clans bar anyone above four-star Dou Sheng from acting, so the Soul Clan is likely testing limits by sending Hun Qianmo. The Hall of Souls also has its Hall Master and the old demon Hun Mo, so one strong fighter could hold off the alliance's strongest force while others attack its headquarters.

Xiao Yan Returns to the Alliance

Xiao Yan returns, and the waiting members cheer that the Young Alliance Master is back. They are amazed that he has refined and subdued the Pure Lotus Demonic Flame, which he brushes off as a coincidence. He agrees to deal with the Soul Hall Master himself, while Cai Lin remains trapped in the Nine Serenities Deep Spring and cannot be reached.

A Speech Before the Decisive Battle

A speaker recalls the Soul Hall's relentless pressure and says it killed his father, a hatred he cannot forget. He insists he speaks as a partner, not an avenger, since the Soul Hall aims to bow the whole Central Plains. He asks the alliance to fight, and the crowd chants that the Soul Hall must be driven out. The decisive battle draws every major faction, and the Soul Hall has sent seven Dou Shengs, while the alliance has deployed ten.
