Episode 118 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Rivals Gather at the Shengdan Trade Fair

Xiao Yan visits the Alchemist trade fair in Shengdan City to find three rare medicinal ingredients: a Thousand Year Green Sloton, a Blood Devil Fruit, and a Snow Bone Ginseng. Only alchemists can take part, and the Dan family's Dan Chen, a seventh-grade intermediate alchemist, is already drawing attention. Dan Xuan reminds him that the Cao family's alchemists are the real threat, so the fair becomes the first sign of how crowded the examination will be.

Haggling Over the Snow Bone Ginseng

The stall owner, Elder Yan, refuses to bargain and wants a seventh-grade pill in exchange for the ginseng. Xiao Yan pushes back on the price, and the trade drags on. A buyer who has failed to break through for years is desperate for a seventh-grade pill for his child, which shows how much these rare items matter. Xiao Yan finds a Blood Devil Fruit, but the Thousand Year Green Sloton and the Snow Bone Ginseng remain hard to find.

Chen Xian of the Xuanming Sect Makes a Threat

While Xiao Yan examines a copper piece, Chen Xian of the Xuanming Sect asks to buy it too. Xiao Yan refuses, and Chen Xian answers with anger and a veiled threat. Chen Xian tells his followers to find out who Xiao Yan is and gives him three seconds to leave, warning that he will not get out of Danyu safely. Xiao Yan does not back down, and the episode leaves the Xuanming Sect as a new enemy.

A Copper Piece Hides Spirit Jade Dust

Back at the Ye family residence, which has fallen into disrepair since the family declined, Senior Tianhuo examines the copper piece. The real secret is not the metal but the patina, and burning it with Heavenly Fire reveals Spirit Jade Dust. The dust was famous in ancient times for making eighth-grade pills and feeding a soul until it can step into the Spiritual Realm. Ancient soul training methods have been lost, so Xiao Yan decides he must save his master before he can learn more.

Soul Hall and the Three Thousand Burning Flames

Tianhuo warns that someone has peeked into the Dan Star City territory, and that the Three Thousand Burning Flames may be hidden there. Someone detected in the area seems to have entered the Spiritual Realm, which raises the question of whether the Soul Hall is involved. The Soul Hall has been gathering the souls of alchemists across the region, and rumor says even Yao Chen was taken by it. The episode ends with word that one of Yao Chen's disciples fought the Ye family in Danyu City, and Xiao Yan says he wants to meet him.
