Episode 198 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Two Draws Before the Final Match

The best-of-three rules are set at the Fallen Mountains, where many influential figures gather to watch. Ancestor Danta fights to help the Heavenly Mansion Alliance against Hun Qianmo, but in the turbulent space neither side can subdue the other, and the match ends in a draw. The second bout, Xiao Chen against the Fighting Soul Demon Old Man, also ends in a draw, leaving both sides level before the decisive third match.

Xiao Yan Faces Hun Miesheng

Hun Miesheng takes the mountaintop against Xiao Yan and admits he sent men to the Jia Ma Empire to capture Xiao Zhan. He says the Soul side's hunts for Xiao Yan kept failing because they underestimated their own abilities, and that he has come in person to end the Xiao family's blood feud. The duel opens with Xiao Yan's Pure Lotus Demonic Flame meeting Hun Miesheng's attacks.

The Fire That Devours the Void

The Soul side brings out the Fire That Devours the Void, a black flame ranked second among strange fires that can devour everything. Its aura matches the Soul Wind from that day, and it swallows the Pure Lotus Demonic Flame. Xiao Yan's aura grows weaker as the fire drains his fighting spirit with each exchange.

Xiao Yi Returns at the Last Moment

Just as Xiao Yan's aura fades, the fire spirit Xiao Yi returns in time, and the strange fire inside Xiao Yan's body undergoes a transformation. Xiao Yi declares itself the opponent the Soul side must face, and the spirit of fire unites with the attack. The arrival changes the balance of the duel, and the Fire That Devours the Void no longer has an easy win.

Hun Miesheng Falls and Threatens

Hun Miesheng falls in the duel and tells Xiao Yan he is lucky this time, warning that Xiao Yan's father is still in his hands. He vows the Xiao family's blood debt will be collected, and says Xiao Yan's fate will be a hundred times more tragic than Xiao Xuan's. Among the watchers, the Xiao bloodline claim is taken more seriously, since even Xiao Xuan could not reach such an ambition.

The Alliance Claims Victory

The result is announced: the Heavenly Mansion Alliance has won. The crowd chants that the alliance is the new ruler of the Central Plains, and the duel that had threatened total destruction ends with the alliance standing.
