Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 150

Episode 150 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Gu Guards Block Xun'er's Friends

As the coming-of-age ceremony approaches, Xiao Yan and his companions arrive at the Gu realm by shuttle ship. Gu guards block the way, and Xun'er asks them not to make things hard for her friends. The guards insist that only clan members and specially invited guests may enter. A man identified as the inner-academy dean of Jiangnan Academy then steps in, and he argues that the Xiao clan's Heavenly Tomb quota has long been assigned to the Gu clan and should go back to Xiao Yan. He promises to speak for Xiao Yan in front of the elders, and Xun'er thanks him.

Bloodline Stars Decide Who Can Take Part

The ceremony begins with bloodline stars. Each star on the chart stands for one grade of bloodline power, and Gu bloodline runs up to ten grades. Only candidates at fourth grade or higher may take part. The first candidate, Lin Quan, reaches sixth-grade bloodline, which is a strong result for his talent. He is the seventh of the Black Smoke Army's generals and a one-star Dou Zun. He earns a third-tier gold foot pattern, which can briefly surge a clan member's bloodline power at a critical moment. Gu foot patterns come in four tiers: silver, gold, purple gold and rainbow gold.

Xun'er's Divine Bloodline and the Dou Sheng Threshold

The examiner suggests Xun'er's bloodline could reach the tenth grade, the level the subtitles call divine bloodline. The Gu clan has not produced one in a thousand years. Xun'er says she has not been tested since her last seclusion, and she doubts she can reach that level. The subtitles also explain that a Gu member with ninth-grade bloodline has a chance to enter Dou Sheng, and a divine bloodline may push even closer to the Dou Sheng peak. That power cannot simply be wanted, which sets up the next candidate.

Gu Yao's Eighth-Grade Bloodline

Gu Yao is one of the four independent commanders of the Black Smoke Army, an eight-star Dou Zun with eighth-grade bloodline and a purple-gold foot pattern. Under the coming-of-age rules, a participant may challenge anyone present, but the target must agree. Gu Yao names Xiao Yan and asks whether he dares to fight. Xiao Yan tells him not to push his luck, then accepts. Someone reminds him that today is his coming-of-age day and he should not let Gu Yao spoil it. Xiao Yan replies that he must defeat Gu Yao to win back the Xiao clan's Heavenly Tomb quota.

The Duel Opens and Cuts Off

Once Xiao Yan accepts, the subtitles shift to fragmentary lines of shouts and blows. Xun'er warns him to be careful. The exact sequence of attacks is too garbled to follow, so this recap does not say who gains the upper hand. The episode closes with the duel still underway, and Gu Yao's terms of a hundred unbeaten rounds still on the table.
