Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 24

Episode 24 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Forging bones with the Earth Core Body Forging Milk

Xiao Yan decides to forge his bones with the Earth Core Body Forging Milk to gain strength as quickly as possible. The training is brutal, and he endures the limits of his body to keep a promise made to someone he loves. In the end he climbs two direct levels and becomes a Dou Ling. The jump matters because the sect's standing in the inner court now depends on the results of its strongest fighters.

The arena fight with Bai Cheng

Xiao Yan returns from training to learn that Wu Hao has already clashed with Bai Cheng in the arena to protect the dignity of Pan Gate. Old and new grudges come together, and the fight becomes unavoidable. The arena is treated as a life-and-death battle where only the result counts, and nobody cares about the process. Xiao Yan is told that Bai Cheng relies on his Douqi armor and his brute force, so the fight is a test of how much pressure that armor can take.

Grade 5 pills and the armor break

Both fighters use Grade 5 Dragon Strength pills to boost their strength. Bai Cheng's Douqi armor, a mystical condensation of the earth, is hard to crack, and his attacks seem stronger than Xiao Yan's. Xiao Yan instead injects dark energy into the cracks of the armor and destroys it from within. The result is a bad loss for Bai Cheng, and Xiao Yan takes over Bai Cheng's ranking on the Strong List, placing 34th.

Liu Fei's insult and the slap

After the match, Liu Fei calls Xiao Yan trash who depends on the power of pills. Xun'er answers with a hard slap for insulting her brother, and Liu Fei loses face in front of the crowd. Liu Fei swears revenge and asks her brother Liu Qing to act. Liu Qing's Tyrannical Spear is said to be something few inner court disciples can beat, which turns a private insult into a public feud that has to be settled through the Strong List.

A month of rankings and what the Strong List brings

A month later, the Strong List competition is set, and Xiao Yan's new rating puts him at 34th. He says the position is still far from the top ten, but the benefits of climbing each rank are bigger than he expected. Lin Xiuya admits that the new students are full of talent. The episode ends with Xiao Yan's question about the benefits, and a warning from the others that the rankings will bring plenty of headaches.
