Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

The Sky Palace Alliance faces a Soul Hall strike

The Falling Star Pavilion, Burning Flame Valley, Little Pill Tower and Flower Sect officially form the Sky Palace Alliance, but the Deputy Head of the Soul Hall attacks on the very day it is announced. To face that threat, Xiao Yan resolves to claim the Pure Lotus Demon Flame before it appears, and he heads into the Nine Tranquil Yellow Springs, which lie in the territory of the Nine Tranquil Deep Ground Python Tribe.

The cold of the Yellow Springs

The deeper the party goes, the colder and more evil the energy becomes, forcing every fighter to burn Dou Qi just to keep the chill out. Xiao Yan goes ahead alone to retrieve a Yellow Springs Blood Crystal and tells Cai Lin to wait. Along the way, the party realizes that a raid has been spotted, and the tribe closes in. One speaker hopes the spring can help him evolve into a Nine-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python.

The prisoner beneath the tribe

Someone chained in the cold has a strong aura, at least Three Star Dou Sheng, yet the chain drains his Dou Qi and keeps him weak without killing him. He reveals that he is Yao Ming, elder brother of the tribe's current chief, Yao Xiao Tian. Yao Ming says his brother poisoned him, sealed him at the bottom of the Yellow Springs, and spread the lie that he had died. Yao Xiao Tian and his trusted Grand Elder are both One Star Dou Sheng, and Yao Ming claims his own strength is now Two Star Dou Sheng.

A bargain for a soul imprint

Yao Ming offers a Yellow Spring Blood Crystal and the chance to escape in exchange for his rescue, but he insists on placing his soul imprint in the rescuer. The stone at the end of the chain is the Yellow Spring Yin Stone, which has been tempered by cold for countless years and was once able to hold Yao Ming for centuries. The seal connects to a complicated mechanism, so the party's soul power is the only realistic way to break it.

The seal breaks, and the chief takes notice

The chain breaks, and Yao Ming is freed. Above, the tribe's chief learns that the seal has been broken. His subordinates have searched the entire Beast Territory and found no trace of the intruders. He sees this as a chance to catch the intruders and interrogate them, and he vows that Yao Ming will never rise again.
