Episode 54 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

The Yunlan Sect Raids the Miter Family

Yun Cha and Yun Du, two Dou Huang, lead Yunlan Sect disciples in a raid on the Miter Family and demand the remains of the Xiao family. Hai Bodong is strong, but he cannot hold against the attacks of two Dou Huang. At the critical moment, a mysterious flame saves him. When the fire dies down, everyone is shocked to see Xiao Yan, who has come back to the Jiama Kingdom after three years away.

Xiao Yan Confirms His Backing

Someone asks whether the newcomers are Xiao Yan's people, and he confirms they are: two Dou Huang and seven Dou Wang. A royal-side speaker presses for troops to be sent to the Miter Family, arguing that even late help is better than none. Princess Yaoye then sends word through an envoy, but Xiao Yan says he has no time to chat with her and turns her away.

A Family Reunion Under Fire

Xiao Yan greets Yafei after three years apart and then sees his brothers. His first brother has poisoned, paralyzed legs, while his second brother has reached Dou Wang in just two years. Xiao Yan tells Yafei to have her people stand down and says he will handle the fight himself. The reunion ties the defense of the Miter Family to his own family, so the Yunlan disciples now face Xiao Yan's side directly.

Yunlan Loses Its Strongest Fighters

Yunlan's sect leader is told that Yun Fu's soul badge and the seven elders have suddenly exploded, and the Yunlan side calls the situation critical. Yun Du and Yun Cha are also dead. Stunned, the Yunlan side asks who could finish off two Dou Huang, and at first suspects the Miter Family.

Yun Shan Orders a Strict Lockdown

The sect leader, Yun Shan, realizes that Xiao Yan had already reached at least Dou Huang and that the Yunlan Sect underestimated him badly. He orders the sect into strict surveillance, with every intruder to be killed, and wants Xiao Yan arrested. He also says he has heard that the spirit of Yao Chen, the Medicine King, lives inside Xiao Yan.

Hai Bodong Pushes for an Alliance

Back on the Miter side, Hai Bodong proposes bringing in the Nalan family, the Mu family, the Association of Medical Teachers and the royal family to fight Yun Shan together. The argument is that the odds are much better than fighting alone, and another voice agrees that one man should not take on the Yunlan Sect by himself. Xiao Yan says he wants the Yunlan Sect gone from the Jiama Kingdom, and the episode closes with a next-episode preview.
