Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 38

Episode 38 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

The seal fails and the Black Corner forces move in

The Fallen Heart Flame is free again, and the academy's elders are already exhausted from the previous fight. Members of the Black Corner side decide the moment is right to seize the Heavenly Flames while the academy is distracted. They want the flame badly, but they know that the monster has gained spiritual awareness, so it can devour other Heavenly Flames to grow stronger. The threat is clear: this is no longer a simple ember that can be caged again.

The Fallen Heart Flame turns on Han Feng

Once the battle begins, the monster appears to target Han Feng. The Medicine Emperor is badly hurt and cannot hold the line alone, so he calls his allies to fight with him and promises to reward them with pills. Elder Su and the other elders, meanwhile, decide to let the two sides fight while they recover their own combat energy. The chase spreads across the grounds, and the flame's mist seems to answer every attack.

Xiao Yan's teacher lends his power

Xiao Yan studies the monster and realises that its outer flame is only a shell, with its real source hidden deep in the huge body. He borrows his teacher's power, Yao Lao, to reach a Dou Huang breakthrough and to push his strength to the limit. He knows the cost could expose the teacher's existence, but the chance to take the Fallen Heart Flame outweighs that risk, so he commits to the attack.

Xiao Yan strikes the real body

The monster shows its real body after a brief moment of weakness, and Xiao Yan moves to seize the flame at that instant. Yao Lao warns him that the timing is his best and only real chance. Han Feng's side then calls for help, and a Black Corner leader mocks Elder Su for overreacting to what he calls a mass of fire. He vows to take the fight to Jianan Academy and reclaim the Black Corner Domain, which turns the battle into a much larger struggle.
