Episode 128 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Mu Gu Breaks the Seal

The episode opens with Mu Gu's plan working. The Three Thousand Flames slam into the seal, and the impact triggers a star crisis. Mu Gu calls three Hall of Souls elders to help him fight for the flames. Xiao Yan notices that the origin of the strange flame is extraordinary, so he holds back and decides to wait and see what happens before he acts.

The Dragon Seal and the Star Field Collapse

When the Three Thousand Flames transform into a natural dragon to break free of their shackles, Xiao Yan seizes the moment and moves to subdue it. Mu Gu will not let him succeed so easily, and Xuan Kongzi arrives just in time to drive Mu Gu and the other elders out of the area. The chaos in the star field then forces Xuan Kongzi and the others to leave, which leaves Xiao Yan alone, still at war with his soul, in a place where his life and death are uncertain.

Friends Outside Demand Answers

Outside, the Dan Pagoda is shaken, and Xiao Yan's friends rush to ask what happened. Some insist on going into the pagoda to find him. Officials explain that the star field is too unstable, and that breaking in by force would only make life in Shengdan City miserable. The medical fairy then says she feels Xiao Yan is not in danger, because the dragon seal is still active and radiates a golden light, which suggests he may be on the verge of subduing the Three Thousand Yan Yanhuo.

A Heavenly Demon Doll and a New Flame

Inside the star field, Mu Gu taunts Xiao Yan and summons a Heavenly Demon Doll that tries to drag him into a death match. Xiao Yan answers that the dragon seal has pulled much of the power into his body, and his own energy is actually fixed as it drains the attacker. When the fight ends, the Three Thousand Flames fuse with three other flames into a Three Thousand Lotus Heart Flame, a ninth-level alien fire. Xiao Yan is promoted to Nine Star Dou Zong, and the Heavenly Demon Doll grows stronger from the sea of fire.

The Star Field Threatens Shengdan City

With the star field about to collapse, the officials tell the Dou Huang-level fighters to retreat, and the stronger fighters to form a formation that protects Shengdan City. Zi Yan wants to go in alone to bring Xiao Yan back and says he will go in with the medical fairy. The episode ends with a warning that anyone who enters now will die, leaving the rescue in doubt.
