Opening the ancestral soul in the altar

Zi Yan leads the group into an ancient altar, where the Taixu Ancient Dragon's remains lie and an ancient emperor fell after a great battle. She also finds the precious Dragon King Origin Country, which draws the covetous eyes of the Heavenly Demon Royal Family. The two sides nearly come to blows. Zi Yan opens the Taixu Ancient Dragon Ancestral Soul, which defeats the ancient emperor's soul in a single strike and drives the rivals away.

A rare Dan beast and an old attacker

Later, the group discovers an extremely rare Dan beast, and the mysterious man who attacked Zi Yan earlier shows up again. The fight starts up again, but then the identities become clear. The man is Qinglin, a friend the woman met in the Gamma Empire. The clash turns out to be a misunderstanding, because she had believed Qinglin belonged to the Nine Netherworld Python Clan.

A poison with no cure

Qinglin explains that he was after a wall snake's three-flower pupil, which can control snake monsters and protect him in Zhongzhou. An elder of the Nine Netherworld Python Clan recognized the artifact and tried to take it, so Qinglin faked his own death to lower the elder's guard. The elder still struck him with the Emperor Python Stone Heart Poison, and his message drew pursuers from the clan. The poison is one of the strangest in the world, with no known cure. Dan beast blood is said to cure all poisons, but it is not enough on its own, so the group agrees to wait until the remains open.

The map to the main hall

Inside the ruins, a map marks the location of the main hall, where a Heavenly Fighting Skill may be hidden. The seals on the scrolls are about to vanish completely. One set of scrolls is said to hold ten volumes, but only one of them is a true heaven-level technique, and who gets it depends on luck and ability. The group heads toward the hall to find out.

Old Ghost Zhai Xing returns for revenge

Old Ghost Zhai Xing arrives, and the crowd recalls the rumor that Xiao Yan broke his arm. The old ghost taunts Xiao Yan and says he is still waiting to send him away. Another rival says he will settle with Xiao Yan once his assigned task is done, and he asks his allies to lure away the nearby puppets so he can grab the scroll. A rival who accuses Xiao Yan of killing his son vows to make him pay, and the scroll contest turns into open hostility.
