Episode 116 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Xun'er Offers Help and a Third Seal

The episode opens with a conversation about whether Uncle Xiao has been found, and the speaker admits that contact has been lost since his father went missing. Xun'er promises to use the power of the Gu clan to track him down and to send word the moment there is news. Xiao Yan is focused on two goals, saving his teacher and finding his father, and he knows both need more strength. Xun'er offers him the third seal behind the Earth Shard and says that his current strength should be enough to cultivate it. Zhongzhou is full of dangerous people, so she urges him to accept the safer method.

The Torshed Ancient Land Is the Prize

Xiao Yan asks whether anyone else knows the Torshed Ancient Land is with him. Xun'er confirms that the Gu clan wants it too. Few strong people have ever broken into the land, and it is the last land to appear on the Fight Qi Continent. It left behind a base, and the land is the key to opening it. Both the Gu clan and the Soul Hall are searching everywhere for it, which is why Xiao Yan worries the Soul Hall wants to capture his father. The Xiao family once ruled the continent under an ancestor who rose to the top in just a few hundred years. When he died, he arranged for the Gu clan to look after the Xiao bloodline, but the family later fell and had to leave Zhongzhou.

Lin Quan Arrives With an Order

Lin Quan reaches the Night City with orders from the Gu clan elders to bring the young lady back to the Ancient Realm. He has already warned Xiao Yan to stay away from her, and he treats him as a member of a family beneath the Gu clan. Lin Quan then admits he was also told to invite Xiao Yan to the Gu clan if he could find him. Xun'er refuses to let her guard be used this way, and she orders Lin Lang to take him down. Lin Quan answers that he is only following the elders' orders and asks her not to make things hard for him.

Xiao Yan Overpowers Lin Quan

Lin Quan calls Xiao Yan the useless one of the Xiao family, but Xiao Yan has grown far past what Lin Quan remembers. Xiao Yan says he does not need anyone's help and that Lin Quan is not qualified to mention the Xiao ancestors. Lin Quan attacks with Thunder Dance, but Xiao Yan dodges each move and calls the attack slow and weak. Lin Quan then uses the Snow Blossom Strike secret technique, and Xiao Yan says it has no solid foundation and cannot touch him. The fight ends with Lin Quan badly beaten, which makes his claim of authority look hollow in front of the young lady.

Xun'er Leaves for Her Teacher

Xun'er tells Xiao Yan that she is leaving and asks him to wait in the Valley. She will join the party, rescue her teacher, and then come find him there. The episode closes with her heading back toward the Valley, leaving Xiao Yan to face whatever the clans do next.
