Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 166

Episode 166 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

A damp canyon ambush near the ancient Bodhi tree

Xiao Yan reaches the gathering of forces, and the canyon leading to the ancient Bodhi tree suddenly changes because of moisture. The Hunyu Xiehun people appear and urge the crowd to form an alliance against the tide. As the group goes deeper, the Hun people vanish, and the fighters left behind have to deal with a Dou Zun-level siege. Heavy casualties follow before the situation is finally brought under control, and the survivors repair what they can on the spot and try to recover their fighting spirit.

Heavenly Demon leaders vanish as the hunt tightens

After the ambush, the group learns that the head of a sect and the royal family of the Heavenly Demons have both disappeared. Someone suspects they have already found the location of the ancient tree. The Hua Sect disciples follow orders and form battle formations, and the group pushes on, insisting the Bodhi tree is just ahead. One of them is uneasy, since the progress is worrying and the damp ground keeps threatening to slow them down.

Covenants, bait, and a pill that only buys time

Voices reveal a covenant at the center of the rivalry. Jiufeng is described as indispensable to leading the Heavenly Demon Royal Family, and a second half of the covenant with Hunyu is discussed, with the promise that both sides share the same chance at the tree. A restoring pill is shared among the fighters, but it only solves the problem for a while. The complaint then turns to Jiufeng and Wenyu, who are accused of using the group as bait to draw in the dampness before they escape.

A cliff route, a broken seal, and a flood of moisture

The ground is so damp that the group fears it will soon be unable to hold on, and it looks for a way out. Someone proposes aiming for the steep cliff and opening a path, and Hua Sect fighters agree to cooperate with everyone. The attack succeeds in opening a gap, and the group breaks out toward Hunyu's emergency direction, which matches the direction of the ancient Bodhi tree that was sensed. A seal is broken, moisture spreads into the tunnel, and the group has to clear rocks before someone else arrives.

Three semi-saint puppets and a Hun Clan ancestor

Ahead stand three half-body semi-saint puppets. One of them is said to be the ancestor of the Hun Clan, and a Hun Clan figure asks his ancestors to help members secure the ancient tree. Someone notes that the Heavenly Demon Royal Family and the Hun Clan have colluded, and another feels a cold ash hidden inside the ancient trees, similar to negative human emotions. One puppet was once a semi-saint-level warrior, transformed into a puppet, so the warning is that stepping into range could trigger an attack from all three. The group decides it is better to fight together, and the episode closes with the work divided: one side takes on the Hun Clan's ancestors while another handles a half-life puppet.
