Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Xiao Yan Says Farewell to the Dragon Court

Xiao Yan and Zi Yan agree that it is time to part ways for now. Xiao Yan asks Yao Ming to hand Jiufeng over to the Heavenly Demon Emperor's envoy, so the Heavenly Demon Phoenix Clan does not act rashly, and the two remaining Dou Sheng prisoners stay held for the time being. He also asks Yao Ming to report any news about Cai Lin, who is still in closed-door cultivation with the Nine Nether Earth Python Clan. The Three Dragon Kings were defeated and are unlikely to cause trouble soon, so Xiao Yan says it is time to head back to Xingyun Pavilion, where the central region is unstable.

Zi Yan's Elders Push Back

Zi Yan wants to travel with Xiao Yan, but her elders argue that East Dragon Island has only just come out of war and needs its ruler at home. They tell her not to run off again and say the island's recovery cannot wait. The elders grumble that she is bored at home, and the exchange ends with a hint that she may get her way after all.

Soul Hall Strikes the Heavenly Mansion Alliance

Back in the Heavenly Mansion Alliance, the Soul Hall's attacks are wearing the alliance down. Roughly half of the alliance's cities have been hit, several alchemists have gone silent, and key space passages that carry pills and supplies are badly damaged. Some cities have been cut off entirely. Traces of the Soul Hall are visible in the attacks, and the leaders agree the alliance can no longer afford to wait. Intelligence has located only one branch, the Human Hall, so the plan is to strike there first.

A Gift for the Teacher and a Call From the Snake Queen

Xiao Yan's teacher praises his rapid rise to Two-Star Dou Sheng in only half a year. Xiao Yan offers him the remnant essence blood left by a being who once had one foot in the Dou Di realm, which could help the teacher break through to One-Star Dou Sheng. The teacher insists Xiao Yan needs it more, and Xiao Yan says he has already taken one dose. The episode then shifts to Cai Lin, the snake people's queen, who bows to the ancestral soul of the Nine-Colored Sky Swallowing Python and prays for the future of her clan.
