Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 66

Episode 66 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Xiao Yan Breaks the Siege at the Fortress

With Medusa surrounded and the three allied forces ready to press forward, Xiao Yan arrives on time and steps in to face the Mulan elders. He breaks the alliance between the two sects, and the fight shifts from a group assault into a series of one-on-one duels. The reprieve gives the Flame Alliance room to recover, but it does not last long.

Cai Lin Steps Onto the Battlefield

Cai Lin, the Poison Sect leader who was supposed to be in seclusion healing, suddenly appears. Her arrival is met with surprise, and Yan Luotian quickly takes charge. He criticizes the Mulan elders for failing to handle a Dou Huang, orders them back to the army, and says he will deal with Medusa himself. The move reshapes the battle, since the enemy side now has its strongest leaders back in the fight.

Wild Geese Fall and the Buddha Fire Lotus

Xiao Yan takes on the Wild Goose opponent, who tries to pin him down with a seal. Xiao Yan splits the enemy's attention with a double, and the enemy is shaken to see a twin appear. Xiao Yan then unleashes the Buddha's Angry Fire Lotus, a technique that costs him heavily. The enemy notes that he could not have used such a terrifying skill earlier, which shows how much he had been holding back.

Cai Lin's Confession and the Poison Gas

Cai Lin tells Xiao Yan that the woman he once knew is gone. She says she now leads the Poison Sect and calls herself a disaster to everyone around her, because of the Ernan Poison Body she was born with. Anyone who touches her, she warns, will die in agony. Xiao Yan refuses to walk away and reminds her that he will always be her friend. Poison gas then spreads across the field, and the allies are forced to retreat.

A Last Offer to Control the Poison

Xiao Yan insists the Unbreakable Demon Body is not a body that cannot be healed, and he urges her not to give up hope. He admits that the Ernan poison is difficult to cure outright, but says he can help her take full control of it. The offer is left hanging as the poison spreads, and the outcome for Cai Lin remains open at the end of the episode.
