Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 33

Episode 33 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Xiao Yan earns a place in the Pagoda

The episode starts with the results of the Strong List. Xiao Yan takes last place in the top 10, but that spot gives him the qualification to enter the depths of the Burning Heaven Qi Refining Pagoda to train. It is one step closer to the Fallen Heart Flame, and the group treats it as a useful prize even though he has been unconscious for days. Xun'er had also fought with her full strength, which is how Xiao Yan's circle learns she beat the second-ranked Lin Xiuya.

Visitors gather around the injured Xiao Yan

While Xiao Yan heals, Lin Xiuya comes back and asks to see him. Xun'er refuses to let him in, but she accepts a healing medicine on Xiao Yan's behalf. Ziyan also appears and leaves quickly, and the group notices that his visit seems to be more about seeing Xun'er than about Xiao Yan. Xiao Yan reaches around a five-star Dou Ling, though the lingering poison from an earlier detox makes his body unstable.

Lingquan finds Xun'er

Xiao Yan and Xun'er step outside and talk about the Strong List, but a large breath of energy approaching the group changes the mood. Xun'er tells Xiao Yan to hide in the forest and stay silent. Lingquan, the new deputy commander of the Black Extermination Army, arrives with orders from the Clan Master to bring Xun'er home, and Xiao Yan is discovered in the middle of the conversation.

The Xiao family's key and the Ancient Emperor Tuoshe Jade

Lingquan recognises Xiao Yan as the young master of the Xiao family and says the Xiao family has an agreement with his clan. He asks whether Xiao Yan knows where a key piece belonging to the Xiao family is, but Xiao Yan says he has never heard of any such lock. Xun'er quietly warns him to tell no one that the Ancient Emperor Tuoshe Jade is in his hands, because the jade is precious enough that it could draw the wrong attention.

Xiao Yan vows to reach Dou Di

Xun'er tells Xiao Yan that she must go back to her clan, and he refuses to let her go without a promise. He swears he will reach Dou Zun, then Dou Sheng, then Dou Di, so that he can match the strength behind her. Lingquan answers that the Clan Master has guessed Xun'er has feelings for Xiao Yan and wants him to forget her. A senior from the inner courtyard steps in, warns Lingquan that Xiao Yan is one of the academy's disciples, and tells him to leave. Xiao Yan ends the episode by promising that he will find her.
