Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Xiao Yan Breaks Through and Heads for Donglong

After resolving the crisis at the Hua Zong, Xiao Yan retreats to a quiet place to evolve his Tomb Lord to the upper level of the Earth rank and breaks through to four-star Dou Zun. He was planning to return to the Xingyun Pavilion, but a black bird finds him with news that Zi Yan is in deep danger. He takes Qinglin and Heiqin straight to Donglong Island, where the Dragon King Origin Fruit has left Zi Yan's body crystallizing because she cannot fully absorb its energy.

Elder Zhu Li Opens the Ancient Dragon Tomb

On the island, Elder Zhu Li opens the Ancient Dragon Tomb so that Qinglin can go in and practice. The ancient dragon tomb offers a chance to suppress the soul of an ancient celestial being and refine it completely. Xiao Yan then meets Tie Jian, the senior who had secretly helped him when he went to the Soul Palace to rescue his teacher. Tie Jian reveals that he had protected Xiao Yan in secret all along, which Xiao Yan had not realized until now.

The Dragon Blood and the Waiting Game

Tie Jian hands over five drops of refined ancient dragon blood. It can strengthen muscles and bones and instantly restore a large amount of fighting spirit, and Xiao Yan is told to use it. Heiqin and Tie Jian stay behind to guard the island, and Xiao Yan promises to help Zi Yan escape her predicament. The island's leaders argue about whether the boy can refine the dragon gold layer, and the Taixu Ancient Dragon clan's unity is at stake.

The Western and Southern Dragon Kings Arrive

The crisis arrives quickly, when a group of dragon kings sails in and demands that a person of royal blood be handed over. The Western Dragon King says the island has no right to call itself a dragon king's home, and the Southern Dragon King refuses to let the Taixu Ancient Dragon Clan be unified under Donglong Island. Both sides prepare for a battle, and the Long Family army moves in to stop the defenders.

Heiqin Holds the Line

The invaders call out to Heiqin, reminding him of their old times and demanding that the royal-blooded person be handed over. Heiqin says he can only hold his opponent back with all his strength, and the island's protective array is soon broken. The episode closes with the attackers still pressing forward and the bloodline still at the center of the fight.
