Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 163

Episode 163 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

A forced breakthrough leaves Xiao Yan hurt

The episode opens with Xiao Yan recovering from a forced breakthrough. The Vajra Liuli Ginseng he has cultivated reaches only about seven zhang, far short of the nine zhang and nine chi peak he needs. Elder Feng checks on him, and Xiao Yan brushes off the injury, explaining that his body has been tempered by rare treasures since childhood. He adds that an ordinary person would have burst from such a push. Feng's reply is blunt: using the whip on him again would not help, because a nine-zhang body needs far stronger stimulus.

The Bodhi Ancient Art is confirmed

With the injury set aside, Elder Feng turns to business. The Bodhi Ancient Art has been confirmed as having truly appeared. Xiao Yan asks when they should leave, and the answer is as soon as possible, because while he was in seclusion for more than half a month, many forces have already entered the Mang Huang Valley region. Xiao Yan decides to go immediately, and another companion says he will go too. The race to reach the valley first now sets the pace.

Elder Feng stays behind with a warning

Elder Feng asks Tianhuo to stay behind and guard the Xingyun Pavilion with him, saying his old bones could use a rest. He leaves the group with instructions: if a problem cannot be solved, do not overreach, and if needed he will come at once. He warns that the Bodhi Ancient Art is so tempting that even the ancient races will act, and that taking the Bodhi Star will not be easy. The Bodhi Star matters greatly to Xiao Yan, so the teacher asks him to be extremely careful.

Warnings from the valley's first casualties

Xiao Yan promises to be careful and says danger has to be faced head-on. Then a voice declares that everything is theirs, first come first served, and that whoever tries to take it will be destroyed. The mood turns when the group hears that the Bodhi Ancient Art has made many people lose their reason, and that some are eager to rush ahead as the vanguard. They learn that the earlier batch who entered the valley did not survive, and that the dead included Dou Zun-level strongmen. The group decides to follow carefully and see the situation before making a move.

Poison that even Dou Zun cannot resist

The valley's danger shows up as poison. A poison-resistance sheet can offer some protection against toxins, but the subtitles repeat that even Dou Zun-level fighters cannot resist the poison here. A Dou Zun wraps the body in Dou Ji, and ordinary poison gas should not be able to get through. The rest of the scene is mostly garbled, but the characters keep talking about the fire, leaving it behind, and whether they will be saved. The episode closes with a string of repeated refusals and the line let's go, pushing the group forward.
