A costly escape from Old Ghost Zhai Xing

The group can only retreat because Venerate Tie Jian blocks the Hall of Souls reinforcements and sacrifices himself. Teacher is rescued, but the cost weighs heavily on everyone.

Xiao Yan's body is in ruins

Xiao Yan has nearly every meridian broken and about 70 percent of his bones shattered. Zhai Xing poured his full strength into the final attack. Someone insists the group stay calm and save Xiao Yan first, and points to Yao Chen's alchemy as the best hope. Another explains that Three Thousand Burning Flame, known as the Undying Flame, can heal him, but only while Xiao Yan is unconscious and it runs on its own.

Turning the star power into a cure

Star power is the key. Falling Star Pavilion sits on a meteorite from the cosmos, so the site can help Xiao Yan absorb the stars and speed up his recovery. His life can be saved, but his cultivation will suffer, and with his personality that may feel worse than death. Someone then spots a Yin-Yang Mysterious Dragon Pill among the medicines and calls his shattered body a perfect chance to be reborn from destruction.

Arriving at a hidden headquarters

The group reaches Falling Star Pavilion, whose headquarters is hidden by the Great Falling Star Formation, so outsiders cannot see its true appearance. Yao Chen praises Feng Xian for looking after the place, and Feng Xian jokes that not everyone is a hands-off manager. The Pavilion Leader is welcomed back by his people. Xiao Yan, it turns out, had broken a Five-star Fight Venerate's arm from the Hall of Souls, but he suffered serious injuries himself.

A year of waiting and a lost Spirit Qi

Star power does the work, and the Undying Flame keeps Xiao Yan alive. Yet a full year passes and he still does not wake. Meanwhile, a report says the Soul Origin Fruit, which could restore the Spirit Qi Yao Chen lost, has been located in ancient remains in the Beast Region. Pavilion members have searched everywhere for Xiao Yan, with no trace found.

A stone tower awakening

A powerful aura rises from the stone tower in the back mountains, and the sect realizes Xiao Yan is about to wake. Those nearby suspect that he spent the whole year gathering energy in the tower to break through in one go. Xiao Yan apologizes for the suffering he caused Yao Chen. Yao Chen then explains that the Hall of Souls drew much of his Essence Spirit Qi during his imprisonment, a loss that only the Soul Origin Fruit can make up for.
