Episode 70 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Xiao Yan Heads Into the Izumo Empire

With the Jia Ma crisis resolved, Medusa returns to the Snake People to steady her own position. Xiao Yan turns to stabilizing the defense of the Gamma Kingdom, and Gu He, who has joined the Yan Meng hall, leads production of the Life Devouring Pill. When traces of a Soul Palace envoy show up in the Izumo Empire, Xiao Yan decides to go looking for his father and Yao Lao. He takes Ziyan along and heads for Tiandu City, the Poison Sect's headquarters, which sits deep in enemy territory.

Cai Lin Tracks the Soul Palace Envoy

Cai Lin says she was pressed by the Soul Palace over why she pulled her troops back, and that the envoy's trail leads to the Ten Thousand Scorpion Sect. She warns that an old master of that sect has been in seclusion, and that someone has fought him before. Her suspicion is that the Scorpion Sect only wants to use the Poison Sect to clear the way for its own plans. The decision is made to attack the Wanxie Gate the next day.

Scorpion Mountain Gathers the Forces

Poison Sect men and horses gather at the Scorpion Mountains to defend against the Ten Thousand Scorpion Sect. The Poison Sect captures a man from the Wanxie side, who reveals that the Scorpion Sect plans to act against the Poison Sect. Earlier fights have already caused heavy casualties on both sides, and several elders are injured. Because the leader fears that information is leaking, she orders that no one may leave the camp, and anyone who does will be treated as a traitor.

The Wanxie Gate Ambush

The attack begins, but the Wanxie men are missing from their positions, and the Poison Sect runs straight into an ambush. Toxic clouds rise over the field, and the order to evacuate comes quickly. Xie Biyan, a master who has been famous in the Izumo Empire for years, then appears with an aura that has reached the peak of Four Star Dou Zong. The Five Elders of the Poison Sect form a formation, and one of them says he will handle Xie Biyan himself. The question of who the traitor is remains unanswered at the end of the episode.
