Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 174

Episode 174 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

The Fire Cloud Ancestor pledges to the alliance

Xiao Yan treats the Fire Cloud Ancestor, who has been suffering from a chronic illness. The ancestor is moved by the act and agrees to form an alliance, with his clan ready to lend a hand regardless of the outcome. The Flower Sect's stance remains unknown, and most of the Pill Tower's elders are aging and in decline, so winning the elder election and the crucial vote is now the priority.

The alchemy arena and the herb stores

Elder Hou dismisses Xiao Yan as a young challenger and says he will use Xiao Yan as an example. The Little Pill Tower holds a massive store of herbs, and both contestants may take what they need. Elder Hou prepares a Pure Profound Gallbladder aimed at nine-colored results. Xiao Yan takes far more herbs than a Bodhi Pill requires, so onlookers wonder whether he intends to refine one at all.

Solidified Cloud Pill and Black Demon Lightning

Xiao Yan condenses mist with fire, a method the crowd recognizes as a technique for circulating elixirs. The Solidified Cloud Pill demands precise fire control and strong soul power, and he is self-taught, which amazes the observers. When Black Demon Lightning strikes, he withstands it head-on, a sight the onlookers had not seen in many years.

The judges name the chain of elixirs

The judges ask each side to name its elixirs. Xiao Yan's final pill builds on the Pure Profound Elixir and a Nine-Colored Thunder Eighth Grade Elixir, then adds a Bodhi Great Elixir. The judges say the mixture can mutate a fighter's battle qi and raise combat power, and that it improves the odds of breaking through a barrier. A judge confirms that the Bodhi Great Rejuvenating Pill is far stronger than the Pure Profound Elixir, just as Xiao Yan had said.

Xiao Yan takes the Little Pill Tower seat

The judge declares Xiao Yan the winner and names him an elder of the Little Pill Tower, effective immediately. Elder Hou angrily calls him reckless and insists it was only an elixir contest. The seat is the position the alliance needs, so the next challenge is winning over the rest of the council.
