Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 78

Episode 78 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

A Pill, an Auction and a Snatched Prize

Xiao Yan has refined a Sect Breakthrough Pill, and with it he wins the Bodhi Liquid when the Heihuang Sect auction officially begins. Before he can celebrate, Old Man Yingshan steps in and takes the prize in full view of the crowd. The Heihuang Sect is badly embarrassed, since its own people could not stop the theft. Its leaders decide the liquid cannot be lost, and they order a chase.

A Chase Through the Northwest Suburbs

The Heihuang fighters track Yingshan to the northwest suburbs, but they quickly learn how dangerous he is. Yingshan kills twelve masters who surround him with a single move, which makes even Xiao Yan's allies cautious. Fang Yan, an elder of Moyan Valley, arrives and offers to help Xiao Yan, but Xiao Yan does not trust the offer. The chase grows tense, and each side starts to suspect the others of hidden plans.

Su Qian Exposes the Disguise

Su Qian, an elder of Jianan Academy, arrives and recognizes Xiao Yan. He asks everyone to forget the trouble at the auction, but the attention is already on Xiao Yan. Xiao Yan explains that he disguised himself because of a conflict with Moyan Valley, and he does not want to be recognized. He also reveals why the liquid matters so much: his companion, the Little Fairy Doctor, is suffering from a Poison Body and has less than two years left. Xiao Yan believes the Bodhi Liquid can help control the poison.

Yingshan's Body Copies

The chase reaches a point where Yingshan's aura suddenly seems strange, and the pursuers realize they have been fighting copies of his body. Sect Master Mo of the Heihuang Sect arrives and warns Yingshan that a copy body can weaken his real one if it is destroyed. Yingshan refuses to hand over the Bodhi Liquid. The standoff reveals that the enemy is far more dangerous than a simple thief, and it leaves the question of where his true body is hidden unanswered.

An Old Name Comes Back

Sect Master Mo later suggests cooperating, and the Moyan Valley members are quick to show up as potential partners. A speaker then identifies Xiao Yan as Sect Master Xiao, the same man once popular in the Black-Corner Region, whose past victories over Elders Jin and Yin are still remembered. The episode closes with a question about whether the man in front of them is really that Xiao Yan.
