Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 85

Episode 85 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

A Call From the Fallen Heart Flame

Xiao Yan enters the magma world to train, but the Fallen Heart Flame calls him deeper, as if it knows where to lead him. He is suddenly surrounded by Fire Lizard People, and in the middle of the fight the flame in his body resounds again. It opens a mysterious circle of light that isolates him from the outside world, and Xiao Yan jumps into it. Something inside the circle senses the flame he carries and asks whether he has conquered the Fire of the Fallen Heart. Xiao Yan wonders whether this is the same call he felt before.

Yao Tianhuo Reveals Himself

The voice belongs to Yao Tianhuo, who treats the Fallen Heart Flame as his own favorite. He says he freed the flame before he died, and he offers Xiao Yan both the Five Rings Flame Expelling Technique, a sky-level combat technique that made him famous, and a second treasure. Xiao Yan suspects a hidden motive behind such generosity, and Yao Tianhuo grows angry, calling him a greedy brat. He then explains that two types of heavenly flame repelled each other during a battle, leaving him badly injured, and that a Fire Lizard Man sneak-attacked him, causing his physical body to collapse.

The Soul Bargain

Xiao Yan asks why such valuable things are being given away, and Yao Tianhuo admits he is reduced to asking a younger generation for help. He says that if Xiao Yan accepts the gifts and owes him a favor, he can make a request. Yao Tianhuo claims he has a way to repair his soul, but refining a Dou Zun's soul is not easy, and he needs Xiao Yan's help in return for the two treasures. Xiao Yan says he understands a little and is willing to try. Yao Tianhuo then adds a second condition involving Bodhi Liquid and warns that Xiao Yan had better keep his promise, or he may end up as a soul inside a lamp.

Practice Beneath a Weakened Spirit

With the deal in place, Xiao Yan practices the Five Rings Flame Expelling Technique in the magma. Yao Tianhuo's soul is too weak to hold more than a thin energy shield, so he goes to sleep to recover. The magma world offers abundant fire elemental energy, which makes it ideal for the technique. Still, a strange movement stirs in the depths, and Xiao Yan senses an extremely terrifying presence. He wonders whether something left behind by a Dou Huang lies below, but he keeps his focus, since he needs strength to save his father and teacher.

Han Feng's Alliance Sets a Deadline

Back in the academy, the Five Rings technique has taken the form of a wolf, and the Great Elder questions why the Fallen Heart Fire Source was placed where it was, warning that the choice could hinder progress. Xiao Yan explains that the flame is not in his body, and that he found another part of the Fallen Heart Flame in the magma world. Though still growing, it can restore the Energy Training Tower, and if the tower is built young it will not reject the flame as it matures. News then arrives that Han Feng has gathered Black Corner Domain masters at Moyan Valley. The order goes out to mobilize all of the Xiao Sect's strong people, who will march on Moyan Valley the next day to make sure Han Feng does not rise again.
