Episode 83 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

The Old Devil Storms the Inner Courtyard

The old devil leads the Demon Flame Valley people into the academy, and he wants both Bodhi's body and Xiao Yan's life. The little medical fairy steps in to help Xiao Yan drive him back, pushing herself hard to keep up with the fight. Even with her help, the old devil proves too strong, and the battle keeps tilting against the young defenders. This is no quick skirmish, and the academy's students are about to be caught in the middle.

Xiao Yan Calls on the Bone Spirit Cold Fire

At the critical moment, Xiao Yan borrows the bone spirit cold fire his teacher, Yao Lao, left behind, and he condenses the three colors of Buddha's wrath. The attack is powerful, but it still fails to deliver a fatal blow to the old devil. The old devil's threat is that if he does not kill this kid today, there will not be another chance. The pressure keeps mounting on both sides as the young fighters try to hold the line.

The Destruction Flame Lotus Gets Out of Control

Xiao Yan forces the transformed fire into a Destruction Flame Lotus. The fire is not a rare strange fire on its own, but its catalyzed power produces a terrifying force. The lotus drains a great deal of his strength, and once it begins to slip beyond his control, the college faces real danger. If it breaks completely, the entire inner courtyard could be lost. Xiao Yan says the lotus was created by him and that he must control it, no matter the cost, so that innocent people are not harmed. Students and their parents are ordered to retreat as the two fire lotuses threaten to explode.

Two Guardians Step In

As the lotuses approach the point of explosion, two figures appear. They are the great elders and guardians of Canaan College, who act only when the campus faces life or death. Tearing through space with every movement, they chase the fire lotus away from the academy. Their power is described as heaven-defying, and the old devil and old ghost are said to be unable to compare. Xiao Yan, exhausted, is told to get up and follow the elders. Afterward, the elders thank those who helped and say they were once presidents of Canaan College, now retired.

An Old Grudge and a Hidden Poison

The elders recognize the old devil and old ghost, and they admit both have survived for many years. They say their understanding of spatial power is only partial, and they are still far from the level of a true Dou Zun. One of them says he and Lao Bai can at most be called Nine Star Dou Sect, and despite two decades of effort they have not broken through. The old devil, still at Seven Star Douzong, is judged to have made no progress. Turning to Xiao Yan, the elders identify the magic poison holder inside him, a poison formed from a strong Douzong's lifelong fighting spirit. Removing it would require a strong Dou Zun, and the elders praise Xiao Yan as a proud young fighter.
