Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

A Deadline Set by the Medicine Goddess

The episode opens with Xiao Yan still carrying the Demon Poison Spot. The Medicine Goddess has used her poison body to hold the curse back, but she warns that if it is not removed within two years, nothing more can be done. Xiao Yan has pressed the Soul Palace envoy for answers, yet he still has no lead on the whereabouts of his father or the Medicine Master. He decides to return to Jianan Academy and ask for help from the God of Battle.

Moyan Valley Blocks the Way

On the road, Moyan Valley's fighters move to close off the mouth of a valley. Their leaders tell the academy's side that resistance will end badly, and promise that the students will not be harmed if they give up. Elder Wu Hao refuses to surrender, and he insists that the academy will not hand over its people. The enemy then moves in to attack, and the academy group is pushed into a fight it cannot easily win.

Xiao Yan Steps In

Mentor Mai Di and his disciple Mo Ling are among those pressed by the attackers, and Xiao Yan jumps in to protect them. He calls himself a member of Jianan Academy and urges the teachers to hold on. Moyan's Fourth Elder then arrives with a sword technique that the valley's fighters respect, and the battle becomes a clash between the valley's strongest and the academy's defenders. Xiao Yan's arrival turns the tide for the moment, and the valley's leaders are forced to reconsider their plan.

A Combat Emperor Revealed

As the fight shifts, the enemies realize the young fighter in front of them is far stronger than expected. Some of them recognize the name Xiao Yan, and one leader is stunned that someone so young has reached Combat Emperor. Witnesses also notice that he can control Strange Fire, which deepens the shock. The episode leaves the valley in a tense standoff, with the academy's people still in danger and Xiao Yan's identity now known to the enemy.
