Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 68

Episode 68 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Xiao Yan Takes On a Dangerous Pill for Medusa

The episode opens with Xiao Yan bringing Medusa to see the Fairy Doctor, to discuss how to control the Ernan poison. Xiao Yan has also learned that Medusa has two disordered energies in her body, which put her life at risk. He decides to refine the seventh grade Heavenly Soul Blood Melting Pill to align those energies and absorb them. The pill is powerful but dangerous, since it can cause a Pill Tribulation that destroys the pill and harms anyone nearby. Xiao Yan accepts the risk and plans to keep trying until it works.

A Poison Sect Map Sets the Night Plan

The Flame Alliance gathers at the appointed place after receiving a map of the enemy camp from the Poison Sect. The map marks Yan Luotian north of the city and the three Mulan elders to the west, so the team has to split up. The group argues over who takes which target, and the final plan leaves the Mulan elders to Xiao Yan. They agree to wait until dark before moving in.

The Mulan Elders Heal Each Other

The Wild Arts of the Three Beasts turns out to be harder to break than expected, because the elders can heal one another during the fight. Yan Luotian admits he had underestimated the young fighter, and the Mulan side was caught off guard. One of the elders offers to end the feud if Xiao Yan spares him, warning that killing him would turn Mulan Valley into an enemy. The offer does not stop the fight, and the battle resumes.

Afterimages, a Chase, and the Buddha Fire Lotus

Xiao Yan uses the Three Profound Transformations of Heavenly Fire and leaves behind afterimages, but the elders quickly see through the trick a second time. The crowd shouts for him to be caught, and the fight turns into a chase. The Buddha's Angry Fire Lotus is noted as very costly, so Xiao Yan has to choose his moments carefully. One of his companions moves to hold the rear while the others retreat. The episode closes with a taunt that the Mulan side is no match for him without the Wild Arts of the Three Beasts.
