Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Yunshan's Fall Leaves a Power Gap

The episode opens with a recap of the battle. Queen Medusa helps calm Xiao Yan after the Guardian Wild Bird exploded Yunshan's soul and took Yao Lao away. Xiao Yan vows that once he grows stronger, he will save Yao Lao himself. With the evil leader Yunshan gone, Xiao Yan decides to disband the Yunlan Sect.

The Yunlan Sect Is Dismantled

Most of the Yunlan clans have already been disbanded, but many members remain, and full dissolution takes about half a month. Yun Yun dismisses the remaining Yunlan disciples. The Xiao side argues it is better for the sect to break up quietly, since otherwise it would be slaughtered and the Xiao family's reputation would suffer.

The Xiao Family Stands Behind Xiao Yan

Xiao Yan's brothers tell him he did nothing wrong, and the Xiao family will support whatever he decides. He is ordered to rest for at least a month and not to leave lasting damage. Xiao Yan says he must hurry to find a way to remove the Life Devouring Pill left by his teacher, and he believes the injury has pushed him toward a breakthrough to Dou Huang.

Mr. Hai Explains the Soul Hall

Xiao Yan asks Mr. Hai about the Soul Hall. Mr. Hai says the Soul Hall is powerful and strange, and that it hunts the bodies of strong souls who have lost their bodies. Xiao Yan notes that his father and teacher fell into their hands, and that the Soul Hall seems very interested in the Xiao family. The plan is to gather strong people quickly, since the Xiao family started from scratch.

The Royal Family Offers Its Support

Princess Yaoye visits Xiao Yan on behalf of the royal family and says the Jia Ma Empire needs strong people. Xiao Yan says he will remember the royal family's favour and help if needed, and the royal side says it will not stand against him. One voice suggests merging the imperial family with the Alchemist Association to form an alliance and to draw in talented young people.

Nalan Ma Ran Says Goodbye

Miss Nalan asks to see Xiao Yan one last time before she leaves the Jia Ma Empire. She admits she regrets her past actions, which she says helped drive the Xiao family and the Yunlan Sect into conflict. She hands over a collection from the Yunlan Sect as compensation for her teacher's sins, and the subtitles close with a farewell and the caption that the grudges with the Misty Cloud Sect are over.
