Episode 58 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Xiao Yan Charges at Yunshan

The battle against the Yunlan Sect finally breaks out. Xiao Yan, at the peak of Dou Wang strength, jumps up to face Yunshan, a Dou Zong powerhouse. Even with a different flame, the gap in power leaves Xiao Yan at a disadvantage. He works with his ally Yao Lao to catch Yunshan off guard, and Yunshan falls behind. Just as the advantage shifts, Guardian Wild Bird steps in and holds Yao Lao back, forcing Xiao Yan to face Yunshan alone.

The Buddha's Wrath Fire Lotus Decides the Duel

With the others told to step back, Xiao Yan pushes on to gather the Buddha's Wrath Fire Lotus. The onlookers realize he has been hiding his strength, and his fighting skills look terrifying even to them. He keeps holding on against the Dou Zong, which makes one watcher doubt that Yunshan can escape the fire at all.

Yao Chen's Soul Is Targeted

Yao Chen, now in soul form without a body, is still tenacious, and the Soul Hall's methods for dealing with souls loom over him. A Soul Hall figure says the Hall Master is very interested in his soul and that he will be taken back to the Soul Hall. Xiao Yan's side calls this treatment cruel, which sets up the struggle over the soul that follows.

Xiao Yan Settles the Blood Debt

Xiao Yan declares that he has carried this debt for three years and will return everything today. He ties the duel to his father, the deceased Xiao family, his brother who was crippled because of Yunshan, and his second brother whose life was run out. Yunshan is struck down, and the Soul Hall invokes its Nine Indras and One Hundred Devours of Soul technique, which the subtitles describe as forcibly devouring a Dou Zong soul.

The Soul Hall Moves to Take Over

With Yunshan dead, the Soul Hall side says the Yunlan Sect no longer needs to support them, and it is time to take things back. Yunlan disciples are told to form up, and a formation closes off the space so no one can escape. Yan Ran, a Yunlan figure who has just broken through and left seclusion, is told that the sect's grandmaster wronged the Xiao family, and he is ready to avenge his teachers and parents.

No One Gets to Walk Away

The Soul Hall figure says neither Xiao Yan nor Yao Chen can leave, and that he wants Yao Chen's soul along with the Xiao family. Yao Chen refuses to surrender his soul and calls the fight a case of the fish dying and the net breaking, while Xiao Yan says he will use the Fire Lotus of Buddha again. The episode ends with a new voice demanding the Xiao family belongings, leaving the standoff unresolved.
