Episode 21 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Pan Gate takes the sales base and Xiao Yan goes into the mountains

After the pill victory, Pan Gate takes over the Medicine Hall's important sales base, and Xiao Yan becomes the most popular pill merchant in the inner court. While Xun'er and Hu Jia train quietly in the Burning Heaven Qi Refining Pagoda, Xiao Yan follows Yaolao's guidance and heads into the inner court mountains for a new round of cultivation. His first goal is purifying the wind and thunder power he needs for the 3000 Thunder Movement, and the purification succeeds. He can stay in the air because of his strong soul force, which concentrates the wind and thunder at his Douqi feet, but his current strength cannot keep it up for long.

Three stages of 3000 Thunder and a senior's warning

The 3000 Thunder Movement has three stages: thunder lightning, surprise thunder and 3000 thunder. His master tells him he can only reach the first stage at most, and Xiao Yan insists he can grow stronger if given time. Yan Hao, a senior disciple, warns him not to hesitate too much, since a Strong List competition is four months away and any real strength found in the valley would help them. The conversation makes clear that the valley is more dangerous than the training itself.

The Sky Demon Snow Ape and the Earth Core Body Forging Milk

Xiao Yan arrives to find Han Yue, Lin Xiuya and others fighting a Sky Demon Snow Ape that the group says is comparable to a Dou Wang. The monster can talk, and it taunts the humans, demanding that they show what strength they have. Earth Core Body Forging Milk, which is said to be the pure essence of earth power, is the prize it guards. Xiao Yan questions whether it is right to seize something another creature protects, and he suggests the team hold on and endure as long as they can instead of pushing forward.

The berserk vein and the snake's hunger

The monster's veins of mad blood begin to wake, and the seniors warn that once awake its strength rises sharply, even a 5-star Dou Wang would avoid it. Xiao Yan's sky-swallowing python fights to protect him. The seniors urge Xiao Yan to return to the inner court with them, but he refuses, saying he came to practise fighting skills and has his own limits. Yan Hao reminds him of the danger, and the python's appetite is growing, since a few drops of Purple Crystal essence no longer satisfy it. The episode ends with a monster challenging an intruder and the snake's hunger raising the stakes.
