Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Xiao Yan Arrives as the Dragon King Turns on His Own Clan

The episode picks up with the Northern Dragon King having used the Dragon Transformation Demon Formation, a forbidden technique that hurt his own people. Xiao Yan reaches the scene on time and forces the king to retreat. During the clash, Xiao Yan realizes the king has been colluding with the Hun Clan and betraying his nation to foreign enemies. Furious, Xiao Yan transforms into a body of devastating fire and swears to end the king's life. This beat turns a rescue into a personal vendetta.

Pure Lotus Flame Meets the King's Fused Power

The king boasts that he has combined the power of two dragon kings, and his fire lotus flower looks truly terrifying. He admits that getting close is the only way to beat this kid, so the fight moves into close combat. Xiao Yan fires off the Condensing Finger of Fire and manages to subdue the Pure Lotus Demonic Flame, and even the mutated Northern Dragon King is no match for his growing strength. The king answers with Blood Dragon Devours the Sky and vows to destroy Xiao Yan body and soul. The duel is now about who can control the flame up close.

The Dragon Soul Pearl Traps the Ancient Dragons

The king's final weapon is the Dragon Soul Pearl, forged from the souls and blood of countless dragons of his own kind. He calls it the supreme treasure of his ancient dragon clan and says Xiao Yan will join the prisoners inside. The reveal shifts the fight from a power struggle to a question of morality, since the king sacrificed his own people for power. Xiao Yan learns that the trapped dragons can neither live nor die, and his rage grows. This beat explains why the pearl matters beyond the battle itself.

The Northern Dragon King Begs and Dies

The Pure Lotus Demon Flame can purify the power of the soul, which Xiao Yan uses to refine the blood energy inside the Dragon Soul Pearl. Those harmed by the pearl are freed from their suffering. Cornered, the king pleads 'Don't kill me' and 'You win,' and offers to tell Xiao Yan everything about the Hun Clan. Xiao Yan decides killing him is the more practical choice, and the Northern Dragon King dies. His death ends his threat, but it also leaves the Hun Clan's dealings unexplained for now.

Survivors Return to Dragon Island

With the king gone, the surviving tribe members on North Dragon Island are to be searched for and brought back to Dragon Island. The dead will be returned as well and buried in the Dragon Tomb. The episode then turns to the future: Xiao Yan is told that the unification of the Taixu Ancient Dragon Clan can restore its former glory, and that he has the physique of the legendary Dragon Emperor. A closing request asks him to help finish the last step in a tempering process. The ending sets up the next phase of the clan's revival.
