Episode 189 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

The Demon Flame Appears

The Pure Lotus Demon Flame, ranked third on the Strange Flame List, finally appears in the world. Xiao Yan immediately gathers the powerful members of the Heavenly Mansion Alliance and heads to the site to seize it. Ancient clans and experts from many forces rush to the scene to compete for the flame.

Slap at the Medicine Clan Gathering

At the site, the Medicine Clan, one of the eight ancient clans, is mocked for the outcast status of its old medicine doctor, Yao Chen. Yao Tian of the Yao Clan goes too far, and Xiao Yan steps in with the soul power of the Great Perfection of the Heavenly Realm to slap him. The humiliated prodigy vows to fight back, and his elders feel the blow to their clan's standing.

Elders Step In

Elder Wan Gui and Xiao Yan's brother defeat Yao Tian, which forces an elder of the Yao Clan to argue that the ancient clans should not meddle in other people's business. The dispute ends with a threat against the Medicine Clan, and Yao Chen promises that his disciple will seek justice for every insult he has suffered.

The Illusion of Xiao Yan's Father

The group is then drawn toward the Soul Palace Master, who holds Xiao Yan's father captive. He gives Xiao Yan two grim choices: surrender Camel Valley Hell, or cripple his own hands and feet to spare his father. Xiao Yan refuses to comply, and the scene is revealed as an illusion that targets a person's weakest point. The real danger is the Nightmare of Heaven, a technique once used by the Pure Lotus Demon Saint.

Fire Slaves and a Burning Attack

The group escapes into the demon flame space, where fire slaves refined by the Golden Lotus Demon Flame attack. These slaves can self-destruct, and a four-star Dou Sheng fire slave proves tough enough to break a fire shield. Brother Qingyang is targeted, and Zi Yan and her allies arrive to push back the attackers.
