Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Xiao Yan Arrives to Break the Clan Siege

Yao Xiao Tian, leader of the Nine Nether Earth Python Clan, has been hurting anyone who protects Xiao Yan. Xiao Yan arrives just in time and turns the fight, and Yao Xiao Tian's tricks cannot match him. When Yao Xiao Tian nearly dies, nine clan members step in with a protective formation that was intended to kill Xiao Yan. Yao Ming then steps forward, seemingly to shield Xiao Yan, and exposes the truth behind the plot. Yao Xiao Tian dies because of his own greed and jealousy, and Yao Ming returns to his old post as clan leader.

Yao Ming Offers a Heaven-Tier Reward

Yao Ming says trading the Yellow Spring Blood Crystal to a friend like Xiao Yan is appropriate, and that his thank-you gift is still too light. He then shows Xiao Yan a painting of the Yellow Spring Demon Saint, a Dou Di-level figure with deep ties to the clan. The Demon Saint hid his knowledge and essence blood inside a stone slab that the clan has guarded in secret, and no one has ever gotten past its depths. Yao Ming offers the essence blood and three Heaven-tier techniques if Xiao Yan opens it, explaining that his own strength has not fully returned since he reclaimed the leadership.

Xiao Yan Enters the Stone Slab

Xiao Yan already knows the Yellow Spring Finger and Yellow Spring Palm, both intermediate Heaven-tier techniques. The third, Yellow Spring Heaven's Fury, is the Demon Saint's signature move, and no one in the clan ever understood it. Yao Ming warns that the slab needs a soul that has reached the Heavenly Realm, and recalls that his own earlier attempt shattered him and took half a year to heal. Inside, Xiao Yan condenses his power into a solid form and uses both techniques, but the Demon Saint's remaining spirit calls them useless and tells him to leave. Xiao Yan refuses and says he will not back down.

Two Choices, and a Third

The spirit judges Xiao Yan's power to be late-stage Heavenly Realm, but says he is still far from the Great Perfection needed to reach the Emperor Realm, so he is not the one being sought. Xiao Yan points out that his power carries Heavenly Fire, and the spirit admits he has improved. The spirit then offers two options: be destroyed by the Yellow Spring Heaven's Fury, or leave and keep his life. Xiao Yan rejects both and accepts the fury, hoping it will awaken his true blood and heritage. He unleashes Bodhi Heart and One Hundred Cycles of Reincarnation. The spirit notes he has never seen anyone survive this trial, and forcing the Heavenly Fire will hurt Xiao Yan too, but he holds it in and passes the test.

The Demon Saint's Final Request

The Demon Saint passes on his essence, blood and heritage, and asks Xiao Yan to find the missing element he needed to advance to Dou Di but never discovered. Xiao Yan asks what it is, and the Demon Saint suggests the answer may come from Xiao Yan himself, since he has the Bodhi Heart and has lived through a hundred cycles of reincarnation. Xiao Yan promises to carry out the senior's will and find it.
