Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 167

Episode 167 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

A Bodhi seed breaks through the damp

The episode opens as the damp hits hard. Xiao Yan makes a quick decision and leads his companions through it while tracking Hun Yu and his group, who are hiding their breath. The road ahead is blocked, the moisture becomes a real danger, and the group faces a life-or-death moment. A Bodhi seed that Xiao Yan carries bursts with light and dispels the damp, and that clears the way for the group to reach the ancient Bodhi tree.

Three semi-saint puppets block the Bodhi tree

At the tree, Xiao Yan and his men are stopped by three semi-saint puppets. Xiao Yan and Hun Yu have a grudge over the opportunity the tree offers, but they choose to join forces against the puppets. The subtitles describe the three as defeated semi-saints turned into puppets, and the fighters are warned that they are harder to deal with than an ordinary semi-saint. The puppets can open their own space, and one of them is said to be an ancestor of a Hun Clan member.

Cutting the strings that tie the puppets to the tree

The group looks for the broken point and tries to sever the connection between each puppet and the ancient tree. The plan is to cut the puppet strings with everyone working together. More spirit beasts join the battle, and the puppets prove stronger than expected. When one fighter says the thing is too difficult, the group steps back, and another says a Dragon King Skeleton is protecting him. The fight is far from over.

Heavy losses on the rival side and a pause at the tree

Once the fighting eases, the group sees that Xiao Yan and the others are fine, while the Hun Clan and the Heavenly Demon Royal Family have suffered heavy losses. One speaker concludes that the rivals no longer have the strength to challenge them, though things may get more dangerous next time. Around the ancient Bodhi tree three puppets are still fighting, and nobody knows what will happen when they get close. The group decides that anyone who has not reached the six-star Dou Zun level should stay back while the stronger members go in.

A vow to break into the Soul Palace

The episode turns darker when a character vows to break into the Soul Palace and kill everyone harming the speaker's father. The speech is intense and leaves no room for mercy. A Bodhi seed is cited as protection against sinking into the illusion, since the warning is that anyone who falls under it could become a puppet too.
