Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 156

Episode 156 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

Xiao Xuan Proposes a Bloodline Fusion

Xiao Xuan's remnant soul explains that a bloodline which could become a major obstacle to Xiao Yan's advance toward Dou Sheng has taken hold in his body, and that a blood-changing stone failed to clear it. A Dragon Emperor bloodline also lives inside Xiao Yan, and forcibly drawing it out would cause a severe backlash. Only a fusion with the bloodline power of the young woman in the group might suppress the problem and bring Xiao Yan a greater gain. She agrees, thanking Xiao Yan and the whole Xiao clan in advance.

Xiao Yan's Bloodline Surges Toward a Peak

Xiao Yan is left to absorb Xiao Xuan's remaining energy, a process that will take time, so the young woman stays behind to cultivate alongside him. Someone warns that if Xiao Yan keeps surging like this, he may get stuck at his current level. The surge reaches the eight-star Dou Zun peak, but Xiao Yan keeps it under control. Xiao Xuan then says a seed of new bloodline has been planted deep in Xiao Yan's heart, and that protecting it is the key to whether he can reach the Earth realm.

Foot Pattern Strokes Come Fast

Xiao Xuan explains the final step of the Heavenly Fire Three Spins transformation: Xiao Yan must quickly cultivate a foot pattern, which reaches full power when paired with the bloodline. In only a few months, Xiao Yan draws eight foot-pattern strokes, a speed that stands out even among his group, and he tries for a ninth. He thanks his ancestor, and the subtitles say the foot pattern is finally activated.

Xiao Xuan Refuses to Be Revived

Someone asks whether the ancestor can be brought back to life. Xiao Xuan explains that although some pills can restore the dying, he is only a remnant soul that has been dead for countless years. He stayed behind not to return to life but to pass on the Xiao ancestor's bloodline power, and he does not want the ancestor buried forever in the Heavenly Tomb. He urges Xiao Yan to break through to the Earth realm, which may help him find a way to release the ancestor. Xiao Yan believes him, and the group heads back.
