Episode 154 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

A Clash Over an Old Grudge Ends in a Storm

Xiao Yan and Xun'er fight Hun Ya and his companions to settle an old grudge. During the battle, Xiao Yan activates a Xiao clan script, and he is close to finishing off Hun Ya's soul power when a storm described as heaven-shaking and earth-destroying erupts across the second layer. Xiao Yan and Xun'er escape it, but their escape drops them into a deeper trap among ancient insects.

Ancient Insects Feed on Energy and Trap the Group

The insects devour everything they touch and secrete concentrated energy. The group suspects the energy beings around them were made by the insects themselves. The storm has cut off the way back, so retreating means death and staying means death too. One voice calls for everyone to combine their strength and force a path forward. The insects are cunning, and the group realizes they will not be easy to beat.

Blame Flies as Reckless Attacks Feed the Insects

Infighting breaks out. One member blames Gu Qingyang for leading the group recklessly, but others answer that Commander Qingyang proposed entering the tomb, and that without him everyone would have died in the storm. Reckless attacks only make the insects secrete more energy. The subtitles also say the ancient insects cannot devour alien flames, so the people carrying those flames become essential. A voice proposes a shared route out, and the group agrees to cooperate.

Breaking Through the Light Mist

The group breaks through, and the insects give chase, but they seem unable to leave the light mist. Hun Ya and his companions run fast, and the subtitles say Xiao Yan will settle accounts with them later. A Yan clan companion thanks Xiao Yan and heads off to find a place to cultivate. Someone then asks where the others plan to cultivate next, and the answer is that the deepest part of the Heavenly Tomb is full of eight- and nine-star energy beings, some at Dou Sheng level.

The Group Decides to Stay Together

The group decides to go deeper together. One companion recalls being told to protect a companion before entering the Heavenly Tomb, and suggests the same duty applies to everyone present. The path grows more dangerous as eight- and nine-star energy beings keep appearing. An intelligent half-living energy being then appears. It says it has not met such fresh prey in years, and it attacks with frightening speed and power. One companion moves to hold it back while the others keep their strength in reserve.
