Battle Through The Heavens Season 5 Episode 12

Episode 12 Full Recap (Spoilers)

Spoiler warning: this recap covers the whole episode.

A Night of Thinking Leads to a Counterattack

The episode opens with Xiao Yan's team beaten by a senior team that had been hiding in ambush, leaving retreat as the only sensible option. After a night, Xiao Yan works out what caused the loss and rearranges the team's tactics. He gathers all the new disciples for a big counterattack, aiming to reach the Inner Courtyard faster and collect more fire energy. Their revised plan works, and the team easily defeats the team led by Liu Mu. The other disciples start to trust his judgment.

The Senior Captain Falls to the New Team

The senior captain decides to take down the leader of the juniors first, since their strength rests on Xiao Yan. Xun'er and Hu Jia are sent to help the other new disciples while Xiao Yan takes on a big swordsman. Senior attacks such as the Spear blast of thunder and earth and the Roar of the Golden Lion Tiger of Destruction fail to break the juniors. The senior's team loses its captain, who gives up, and Xiao Yan's sonic fighting skill draws praise from his teammates. Xiao Yan then tells the defeated senior to take a healing pill, so he can recover.

Warnings About Heisha and Baisha

Xiao Yan tells the defeated senior that a stronger team is still waiting, namely Heisha and Baisha. Hu Qian, meanwhile, is asked to send information about Xiao Yan, since his potential may place him among the strongest students in the Inner Courtyard. Soon after, Sha Tie arrives and says he will not return the fire energy the juniors took. He also says that news of a new disciple robbing a senior has spread across the Inner Courtyard, and that his team's mission is to drop dangerous new disciples from the hunt.

Sha Tie Demands the Fire Crystal Cards

Sha Tie offers the juniors a deal: hand over the fire crystal card and his team will not act rudely. When the juniors refuse, Sha Tie states that his team is not one to be beaten by a group of newcomers. Sha Tie also offers Bai Shan a way out of the fight, and the others argue over whether accepting it counts as running away. Xiao Yan tells the group he will not back down and that he will face Sha Tie himself, while Xun'er, Wu Hao and Hu Jia take on the other three Heisha members.

Xiao Yan Faces the Gold Element Captain

The duel begins with Sha Tie's Gold element douqi, which is massive in attack and defense but not very agile. Sha Tie uses Wind Blowing Site and Octopus Punch to press Xiao Yan. Xiao Yan points out that the captain's strength is also his weakness, since his lack of agility leaves an opening. Sha Tie replies that against absolute power and defense, Xiao Yan is no match for him. The episode cuts away mid-fight, with the outcome still unsettled.
