The flame duel that wins the inheritance

The contest runs ten rounds, Wu Chen loses, and the result qualifies Xiao Yan to inherit the Three Mysteries of Tian Huo. The Alliance of Flames is honored to ally with him and promises to pass the Queen's proposal to its chief. Yet the Ten-Spirit Clans, who seem willing to submit, are viewed with suspicion, and the allies agree not to let their guard down.

A letter that hands the Alliance to Cain

A letter tied to Xiao Yan says the sender has set out for Dan Yu, thanks the allies for managing the Alliance, and sends a separate elixir for Queen Medusa. The letter is addressed to Cain, who is told that the Elixir of the Soul of Heaven has been completed in the hope of curing the crisis in his body. The writer entrusts the Alliance to him, admits being selfish for drawing him into it, and says a mission takes them to Zhongzhou.

Where the Three Mysterious Changes came from

Hua'er asks about the origin of the Three Mysterious Changes of the Sky Fire, and the Ancestor of Fenyan explains it was created by a friend of the founder. Five strongmen once stood one step from the Fight God: the Fenyan Ancestor, the ancient soul tribes with Fight God bloodline, the Dantang, and Xiao Xuan of the Xiao clan. Xiao Xuan, a friend of the Ancestor, created the advanced technique. Someone asks whether Xiao Yan is related to Xiao Xuan, and the answer is that he doubts it. The Ancestor leaves to find former companions, warning that the technique's energy is violent and must never be spread.

The Ye family's crisis and the Liu invitation

The Ye family is in trouble, since the Dragon and Snake of Danyu are mixed up and only five families can be tied to the Dan Tower. Its place in the Elder Branch of the Dan Tower is at stake. Liu Qing invites Xiao Yan to stay and join the Liu family, promising that his talent could lift the family to the sky, and offers protection in Tianhuang City. Meanwhile, Xinlan is urged to leave a dangerous spot but refuses to abandon a companion, and plans to go home for reinforcements.

Standoff in Ye City over Xinlan's marriage

In Ye City, Xinlan refuses to marry Cao Dan, whom she calls a bastard, and warns that the Cao family wants to devour the Ye family. Her relatives argue that marriage is the top priority to escape the crisis, and say the death of others has nothing to do with them. Xinlan answers that without the little doctor she would have died, and accuses them of seeing her as a marriage tool. Xiao Yan arrives, introduces himself as Xinlan's senior, and says she must come with him to save her friend. An elder warns him for breaking in and hurting clan members, but Xiao Yan insists he did not start the fight. In the end the elders let them go, and an elder admits the Ye family's fate may already be sealed.
